Finished his routine and then started
Kanappan too got ready and said 'here i am'
Laughed his maama whole hearted
Swollen eyes, trembling gait, knees full of pain
Looked at mama with fury and thought the boy
Mocking at me uncle its so mean
Father in urgent played the decoy

Thus was the experience of kannappan on the second day of his yaathrai. Before sleeping he could feel the burning sense on the skin of his thighs.
One old lady, next to him told "saami endha orru? marudhayaa? naanga paramakudiyila irundhu vaarOm. mundhaa naa(L) kiLambitOm marudhaikku nEththu saayandharam vandhOm. Aama AEn munangureenga thoda eriyudhaa? Avana ninachchikOnga, thEnga ennaya thadavunga, ellaam nalladhE nadakkum. Neenga nadakkumbOdhu eriyudhunnu kaala agatti agatti nadakkaadheeha, enna erinjaalum kaala sEththu vachchi nadanga. Sinna puLLaingaLukku murugan nalladhu thE(n) paNNuvaan".
